Why?

I don't understand why things should be this way,
My Heart will go on aching everyday.
My love for you will continue to grow,
But deep inside I'll never know.
Why we couldn't work out a way,
And always together, we could stay.
Our love has been wonderful and true,
And I'll never regret saying "I love you".
In all these months we've so sweetly shared,
You've proven to me how much you cared.
We've had so many good times, some were sad,
Yet I'm so thankful for those times we had.
My love for you will never die,
There will always be something deep inside.
I'll never understand it, but only God knows,
And I guess that's just "the way it goes".
Things didn't work the way we wanted them to,
But Honey, I don't regret saying "I Love You".
